Family Math and Science Nights Sponsored by College of Menominee Nation

The purpose of Family Math and Science Nights is to engage families (parents along with their students) in positive experiences with mathematics and science to encourage discussion at home and equip parents to better help their students with math and science. During this process, several college students from CMN will have an excellent opportunity to contribute to a community service project and gain valuable classroom experience. We believe that best results will come from tailoring this program to each individual school. Wherever possible, college representatives will work with existing formats, schedules, faculty and structures within each individual school. Long term goals for this project include integrating Family Math and Science Nights into CMN’s new 4-year Elementary Education program, increasing interest in math and science related careers and fields of study, and spreading awareness of the opportunities available at CMN.
