Feather Chronicles

Tina Deschenie, Editor at the prestigious Tribal College Journal advised CMN this week that three of our students will be recognized for their entries in the American Indian Higher Education Consortium’s (AIHEC) writing contest for 2008. The CMN authors were selected from 85 students (119 entries) competing in the 2008 competition.

Shane Dixon's "Venison Vyron" placed second in the Memoir/Personal Narrative Category, earning Shane a plaque, a pen, and a cash award. Shane's narrative will appear in an upcoming issue of the Tribal College Journal. Jason Young is a runner-up in the memoir/personal narrative category while Portia Koebach is a runner-up in the poetry category.  Seven runner-ups are recognized in each category. The runner-ups will receive certificates and pens. Jason and Portia's work and photos will be posted on the TCJ website. (www.tribalcollegejournal.org)

Thanks to all CMN authors who submitted work to be considered in this year’s AIHEC competition.
