AIHEC Conference Update:

CMN students competing in this year’s AIHEC competitions departed on Sunday, March 16th, for Bismarck, North Dakota, site of this year's AIHEC conference. CMN's Science Bowl Team, Steven Dahl, Dan Hawk, Stacy Nanny, and Miron Grignon (coached by John Ochsner), took 3rd place in the competition.  The Knowledge Bowl Team, Menomin Hawpetoss, Dee Cobb, Chris Pyawasit, and Jerred Caldwell (coached by Maria Escalante), competed enthusiastically but didn't place.

In Oral Interpretation (coached by Ryan Winn) Nat Madsen placed fourth in the Oral Interpretive - Humorous category, while Jessica Buettner placed second in the Oral Interpretive - Serious category.  Jessica and Nat also reclaimed their First Place Title in Duo Interpretation - Serious category.

AIHEC conducts numerous competitions, covering a wide variety of skills and talents, during the spring conference. Competitions include business bowl and business plans, web page design, numerous art categories, critical inquiry, science poster, science oral, traditional plants, and even vollyball, handgames, pool and chess. It's not too soon to begin thinking about next year's contests. If you have (or want to develop) a skill or interest matching one of the competitive categories and plan to be a CMN student next year, talk to a faculty member about how the competitions work -- set yourself up to be among next year's winners.

Congratulations to all CMN competitors -- you represent our college well!
