JOB TITLE: Computer Program Coordinator (10 or 12 month 5 year grant funded position)
SUPERVISOR: NACTEP Project Director
LOCATION: College of Menominee Nation

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the NACTEP Project Director, the Computer Program Coordinator is responsible for the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Teach up to 15 credits per semester of assigned courses in the Computer certifications and Office Skills Assistant curriculum in partnership with the Instruction Department

·         Assess students pre-course and post-course to determine amount of academic progress.  Make referrals to Instructional Case Manager for lack of academic progress, learning difficulties or other concerns

·         Coordinate computer certifications/office skills curriculum and certifications with area technical colleges

·         Develop/update curricula for the assigned courses / community education classes and integrate instruction with current technological tools

·         Develop Mastery of Technical Skills Check-off Chart for each Computer Certification and for the Office Skills Program

·         Coordinate the instruction and mentor adjunct computer/office skills instructors

·         Coordinate curriculum development and current industry certifications with the Academic Affairs Department

·         Assist with employer linkages and job placement for program students

·         Recruit students for technical education programs in partnership with Student Services personnel

·         Advise Technical education students in partnership with Student Services personnel

·         Develop strategies aimed at increasing student retention in partnership with Student Service personnel

·         Maintain and update laboratory equipment and software

·         Assist in the preparation and administration of the budget

·         Participate in CMN committee, accreditation, and assessment processes

·         Develop and facilitate computer/office skills occupations advisory committee with employer representatives

·         Fulfill any other duties assigned by the NACTEP Project Director
 

 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Business Applications or related major or comparable industry certifications in computer/office skills areas. MOUS certifications.  Meet the qualifications for Wisconsin technical college educators.

·         3 years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning or other training environment preferred.

·         Strong written and oral communication skills.

·         Strong computer skills.

·         The ability to facilitate transitions and counsel students toward the realization of their full educational and career potential.

·         Previous experience working with individuals with learning difficulties.

·         Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organizational skills, as well as the ability to interact with diverse populations.

·         Knowledge of technical education programs and apprenticeships available in northeast Wisconsin.
