POSITION SUMMARY:
The faculty member
should have an interest in and ability to teach students at the
Associates-level as well as the Baccalaureate-level and be committed to
working with a diverse range of student interests and abilities.
Depending on qualifications, (s)he will teach a broad range of courses
in public administration, finance, planning, development and/or related
areas, as appropriate. (S)he should have an interest in and ability to
work with other faculty to integrate communications—reading, writing,
speaking, and quantitative reasoning--across the curricula. These
positions are 5 year AICF-Lilly grant funded positions.ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
- Teach assigned courses in
public administration, finance, planning, development, and related
disciplines, as appropriate;
- Develop and implement public
administration, finance, planning, development, and related
curricula as appropriate for Associates as well as Baccalaureate
Degree Programs;
- Work with faculty to integrate
communications—reading, writing, speaking, and quantitative
reasoning--across the curriculum;
- Utilize current technological
tools in instruction;
- Assist CMN Recruiter with
recruitment efforts for Public Administration majors;
- Assist Academic Advising
Coordinator with advising CMN students for Public Administration
majors;
- Assist in the development of
strategies aimed at increasing student retention in the Public
Administration degree programs;
- Assist Academic Tutoring staff;
- Participate in CMN committee,
accreditation, and assessment processes;
- Participate in community
service—within the college and surrounding communities—and outreach
activities;
- Serve as Public Administration
program director and/or disciplinary area specialist;
- Fulfill any other duties
assigned by the Dean of Instruction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Finance, or related field
required. 1-2 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level
and/or at a community college. Strong computer skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Public Administration, Finance, or related field. Minimum
of 2 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
