M.A. in Literary Studies from The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh
B.A. in English and Theatre from The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
A.A. in Oral and Written Communication from Gogebic Community College

Ryan worked as an Adjunct instructor for The College of Menominee Nation for three semesters before accepting a faculty position in 2006.  His educational background is mostly in the American Romantic writers, Minority and Literary Theory, and Contemporary Theatre.  While completing his degrees, Ryan helped create college curriculum, aided in various research projects, proofread poetry anthologies, and performed in numerous theatrical productions.
 

Ryan is a published poet and short story writer, as well as a mildly successful playwright, and his works were featured in both Wisconsin and Michigan publications.  Similarly, Ryan’s Master’s Thesis, “Know to Refuse the Evil and Choose the Good: Hawthorne and the Age of Accountability”, was nominated for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Distinguished Thesis Award.

 

Ryan’s hobbies include exploring nature, literature, history, film, theatre, and Christian Studies.  He and his wife Lindsey reside in Kimberly, WI with their dog Shakespeare.
