My baccalaureate degree in elementary education is from Silver
Lake College and my masters degree in
religious education from Catholic University of America in Washington
D.C. Besides being a student at Catholic U, I was a fairly good tour
guide for all my visitors from Wisconsin. In September I will celebrate
my 40th year teaching or in education. Teaching is still my passion. I
love to see the “aha” moment in a student’s eyes and hear the excitement
as they connect learning to life experiences. |

Prior to coming to CMN, I assisted Fr. Dave Kiefer at St. Anthony Parish in Neopit for 7 years by visiting the sick, preparing for Sunday worship, fund-raising and grant writing for the food pantry and emergency needs. St. Anthony’s recruited me after I spent 15 years as an education consultant for the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay. Most of my work for the schools and churches of Northeast Wisconsin was designing curricula and creating teacher guidelines and special projects. My most treasured award was the plaque I received from St. Rose School in Clintonville for being a Distinguished Graduate. I share that distinction with Dick Bennett for basketball fans. |

At the end of March, 2006, Dr. Jerilyn Grignon and I were hired to design and implement a baccalaureate degree for teacher education for the College Of Menominee Nation. Our present work entails research into teacher education curricula and programs, state teacher requirements and the needs of this community and its schools. We hope to have candidates for the teacher education program interviewed soon. As a member of A New Genesis Community, an order of Sisters that was formed here in Northeastern Wisconsin, and a member of St. Anthony Parish in Neopit, I spend time volunteering and meeting many people. For fun, I enjoy the beauty of Legend Lake. My small mischievous dog, Abby, needs me to spend more time training her. |
