Dr. William Van Lopik

Faculty/Sustainable Development
| Dr. William Van Lopik began working at CMN in July, 2002. He has a joint appointment as the Academic Program Director of the Sustainable Development Institute as well as Technology and Resources Division Director. He teaches geography and sustainable development courses at CMN. | |||
| He was born and raised in
Grand Rapids , Michigan and earned his B.A. in Sociology from Calvin
College. He later earned a M.A. in Geography from Western Michigan
University. After working for several years in Central America for a
non-profit international development organization he later returned to
school. He went on to earn an M.A. in Human Resource Leadership from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph.D. in Resource Development from Michigan State University. |

He stays actively involved in Central American issues by periodically teaching a class in sustainable development in Belize and by traveling frequently to El Salvador. He has a diverse background of working with developmentally disabled adults, teaching Spanish to elementary school children and working as a geography instructor at the college level. He and his wife Susan live in Shawano along with their two teenage sons. They are active in traveling, sports and enjoying the outdoors of their new home state of Wisconsin. |
