Time Commitment

  • Daily Check-in: Expect to check your email and Google Classroom/Schoology daily. Reading announcements and other notifications are crucial to having a successful online experience.
    - CMN Employees: Be sure to check your student e-mail daily as many updates that are being sent through Empower are to your student email address.
  • Time: Expect to spend as much time, if not more time, engaging with your class commitments.
  • Online Options: Take advantage of any online office hours offered.
  • Support: Before spending too much time on tasks, be sure to reach out for assistance.
  • Communicate: Take the time to promptly communicate via classroom/Schoology or email with your instructors or classmates if you have questions.
    - Ask for feedback or clarification.
    - Be open to phone communications.

Communicate and Collaborate

  • Given that face-to-face classes have been suspended for the remainder of the semester, your face-to-face class instructor should have already communicated with you on how they will be handling your coursework remotely.
  • If you do not have the required technology and access, be proactive in communicating this to your instructor and in finding solutions.
  • Create study groups with fellow students
    - Utilize Google Meet for a video meeting to collaborate with other students.
